About The Shelf Factory
The Shelf Factory began in the mid 1980's by making and selling wood shelf brackets and wood shelves while working for a small chain of Hardware Home stores that were in the Southern Indiana area. I designed and made several display units to put in several of the stores. I titled all of the displays "Shelf Factory".
I originally started using Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) that we sold in the stores. SYP is a highly renewable wood which is the hardest of the evergreen species and is comparable to Oak or many other species of hardwood in strength. I finally moved to North Carolina where SYP is actually grown and harvested. I continue to use SYP for the items I make.
In August of 2001, I purchased a website and named my Web business "The Shelf Factory". In the years since, I have sold several thousands of orders to mutilple customers in every State in the USA as well as many outside the United States. I discontinued selling my items outside the USA as the complicated regulations, fees, and the high shipping costs made it not worthwhile to pursue.
I started the website with only a few styles of brackets increasing them to the numerous styles I have now. Many of the brackets are styles that were created to accommodate customers who wanted something different than what was readily available. I added solid wood shelves to the website and before long, customers wanted them made into solid assembled wall shelf units. Most of the pictures on the website that are shown are some of the more unique projects, even some customer supplied photos, that I have made for customers. Web and Big Box stores are selling mostly imported Shelves and Shelf Brackets.
The Shelf Factory's products are made by me in North Carolina, USA. As I make everything to order, you will be quoted a time frame for completion when you inquire. To place an order or to make an inquiry along with your zip code, and email me at email@example.com
You will receive a prompt reply with an answer to your questions, information or a complete quote.
Thanks to all of my past customers for supporting me. Take a look at some of my customer comments and I hope you also will become my customer.

Everything pictured on this website, with the exception of a few parts and accessories, was made by me from scratch. I make everything to order. I may not be able to provide you with what I make and ship the very next day. It takes me a several days or more to ship some of the items. When I do anything custom, it even takes a bit longer. I include estimated time frames with every quote. I can assure you that what I make is Quality, made the way you want it and it's also Made in America.
I have been on the internet with the SHELFFACTORY website for almost 15 years. As well as my products, the website has been put together and all the pictures have been taken, by me. The website admittedly needs constant work and upgrades. I am always trying to improve it but it is very time consuming for me, while also keeping up with completing the orders. I am currently trying to optimize the website but it is a slow process.
If you have any questions concerning making for you anything you see on this website, I am always happy to help. I will ship anywhere that has a USA based address. I will answer all emails promptly.
Please read some of the customer's comment's that were sent to me, after receiving their orders, at the bottom of this page.
Thanks again, Mike
